Argentina
The Casino Group entered the Argentine market in 1998, represented by the wholly-owned subsidiaries Libertad and Leader Price Argentina. Libertad, the market leader in every province where it operates, is also the country's third-largest property management firm.
This twofold focus on Argentina's retailing and property management markets led to the opening in 2008 of two next-generation shopping centres: Paseo Rivera Indarte and Paseo Villa Maria.

When acquired by the Casino Group, the Libertad chain of hypermarkets numbered six stores. It now counts 15 hypermarkets nine provinces, each joined to a shopping centre. Targeting a family clientele, the banner responds to the needs of a typical cross-section of Argentina’s middle class.

Libertad has also expanded its non-food banner, Hiper Casa, which counts 7 stores and specialises in home furnishings, accessories and decoration.
Positioned for an upscale market, the banner offers up-to-the-minute styles and designs in a sophisticated setting, with a staff trained to provide effective customer service.
Besides, Libertad runs stores called Planet.com: with surfaces of stores of about 2000 m², Planet.com asserts himself as a specialist for technological products (computers, video, culture, TV, hi-fi equipment).
