Opportunities for disabled workers

The Casino Group first introduced a policy to encourage employment of the disabled in 1995.
The latest Handipacte agreement defines the Group's commitments for the period 2011-2013.
In particular, the Group has pledged to hire at least 180 disabled persons, host a minimum of 180 disabled interns and retain disabled employees and those who become disabled.

Since 2006, the Group has hired 520 disabled employees, including 125 in 2010, and played host to 418 disabled trainees.
At 31 December 2010, the percentage of disabled employees within the Casino Group stood at 10,07%, well above the legal requirement of 6%.

The Casino Group implemented several initiatives to help hiring disabled employees, such as work/study programmes that enable them to be trained to the Group’s different jobs.

The Casino Group also regularly takes steps to alert the workforce to disability issues and enlist employee support.
