The Keys of the Casino spirit: first Casino Awards event

On 8th July Groupe Casino handed over its 1st in-house "Keys of the Casino spirit" awards, patroned by Jean-Charles Naouri acknowledging French and international employee initiatives.
Four awards representing the four values of the Group (Winover, Loyalty, Stringency, Solidarity), were awarded to teams who, in 2009, embodied one of these values via an initiative they put forward or implemented and which came to fruition in 2010.
Beating 341 other teams, the Award and Special Prize winners were acknowledged for their commitment to very varied projects: improvement of services offered to Petit Casino customers, a highly innovative sales campaign focused on beauty and women in Vietnam, developing closer and more transparent relations with suppliers by way of a bespoke campaign and finally employee children-oriented projects in France (drawing competition rounding up 3,500 children), or projects aimed at under underprivileged young people in Brazil, with the creation of a vocational training school and a target of qualifying 600 young people by 2013.
Since its outset over 110 years ago, the Group has undergone profound changes but it remains the guardian of strong values that go hand in hand with its retailing profession dedicated to customers. These are tough values going beyond the call of duty that guide the employees of the Group in their daily work.
According to Jean-Charles Naouri: "Every day, in all our activities, we explore new channels, we think up pioneering solutions, we innovate for our company, our store or the community around us. This is why the Casino Awards were created: to acknowledge, reward and share the best initiatives which contribute to moving the Casino Group forwards".
