The cash & carry* format is becoming increasingly popular in Colombia, where Casino Group subsidiary Grupo Éxito, the country’s leading retailer, recently opened a fourth outlet. Covering nearly 2,900 sq.m, the new store serves retail customers as well as professionals and wholesalers. With it, Grupo Éxito is continuing to demonstrate the success of this new shopping model and drive its expansion.
Last 5 October, Grupo Éxito and its cash & carry banner Surtimayorista opened their fourth store in Colombia, in the city of Villavicencio. The new 2,834 sq.m unit serves consumers, professionals and wholesalers with a selection of more than 2,000 SKUs in such areas as groceries, fruits, vegetables, meat, toiletries, disposables and beverages. All of these products can be purchased “wholesale” at lower prices by businesses and families alike.
Introduced in Colombia in 2016, the cash & carry format was directly inspired by the successful model pioneered in Brazil by Assaí, another Casino Group retail banner.
